🔎 Who am I?
My name is Mathew, and I’m currently working on search algorithms as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at LinkedIn, based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Prior to that:
- (2018-2021) I was building real-time NLP systems at brain.ai, where I played a key role bringing their natural language interface from prototype to a first public release on the App Store.
- (2017-2018) I worked as a Data Scientist at Quora, where I analyzed experiments to help drive user engagement in the question-asking experience.
- (2016-2017) I worked at Simon Fraser University as an undergraduate researcher, in Dr. Jiannan Wang’s Data Science Research Group. We published a paper to VLDB in 2019.
- Before that, I meandered my way through SFU’s engineering, math, and computer science departments. Maybe I’ll write a blog post about that in the future.
